Be aware of parking websites that advertise airport parking at lower than normal rates. Southwest Airlines is adding three new non-stop flights to three cities from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. Tickets are already available for the flights, which begin in April 2026, according to the Birmingham Airport Authority. Non-stop to Denver will increase to two flights daily. Nashville non-stops will also increase to two flights a day and there will now be three non-stop flights to Orlando.
Spirit Airlines has announced plans to add new seasonal, nonstop service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with daily flights. EWR is located about fifteen miles from Manhattan making it a great option for getting to New York City. Service to EWR begins June 4th and is available for booking now.
Federal agencies, including TSA, will begin REAL ID enforcement on the deadline—May 7, 2025. Starting on May 7, only state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards that meet the security requirements established by the REAL ID Act will be allowed for official purposes, including boarding commercial aircraft.
